The Jacobs Precinct, a vital industrial and logistics hub within Durban, grapples with a multifaceted transportation crisis. Its complex multi-modal network suffers from rapidly deteriorating infrastructure, inadequate maintenance and a critical lack of seamless integration. This has led to a system overwhelmed by the burgeoning logistics sector, significantly hindering efficient movement of people and goods.
To address these pervasive issues, a comprehensive Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) was undertaken for the Jacobs area. This TIA aims to significantly improve mobility and accessibility for all users, fostering a sustainable, resilient and livable precinct that supports economic prosperity, environmental well-being, and a vibrant local culture.
