TRAFFIC IMPACT ASSESSMENTS
Our expertise in undertaking all types of Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA) and Site Traffic Assessment (STA) makes us one of the leading traffic engineering consultants in the country.
We undertake traffic assessments for a vast array of projects ranging from small local projects to extremely large multi-disciplinary mixed-use developments. Our traffic assessments are undertaken in accordance with the prescribed COTO and other similar guidelines for the Traffic Impact Assessments.
Our traffic analyses assess the existing traffic conditions on the road, consider the existing & future land uses including latent rights. Thereafter, we determine the future traffic impact of a proposed development on the road network and finally we suggest road network improvements in mitigation of the envisaged congestion problems.
TRAFFIC SIMULATION & MODELLING
We are extremely competent in developing traffic simulation models using the world renowned AIMSUN Simulation Software. Our experience ranges from developing traffic simulation models for relatively small study areas to extremely large regional traffic models. The AIMSUN software that we use is a micro-simulation traffic analysis tool used in transportation analyses that allows the user to model and analyse the operation of complex transportation systems under congested conditions. This software models the traffic performance of large, complicated transportation networks. The model building process that we use typically involves:
- Developing and coding of the road network.
- Data collection and data preparation.
- Base year model development.
- Model calibration and validation.
- Scenario Testing.
We are confident that we can develop a high-quality working traffic simulation model of any road network that is “fit for purpose” to test any future scenario that the client and road authorities may want to test.
TRAFFIC SIGNAL DESIGNS
We are extremely experienced in undertaking traffic signal designs for all intersection types, which typically includes the following steps:
- Undertake Traffic Signal Warrant Checks
- Using SIDRA Intersection analysis software, produce timing diagrams for AM peak, PM peak, midday, off-peak and weekend periods.
- Produce traffic signal layouts.
- Prepare specifications, tender documentation and call for tenders.
- Oversee the implementation of the signals and facilitate the handover to the relevant authority.
ROAD MASTER PLANS
We specialize in Roads Master Planning, which is essentially a sustainable long-term strategy for the development of the road network within a region. Our master planning efforts help guide a region’s transportation and land use decisions from the current horizons to far into distant future.
The road master plan provides a statistically reliable platform to inform all future road network planning for the proposed land developments within a study area. The road master plans focus on improving the mobility and accessibility of all travelers to, from and through a region including commuters, residents and visitors.

FREIGHT TRANSPORT PLANNING
We have significant amount of experience in integrated freight transport planning. The freight transport network is a multi-faceted system that comprises of many individually components, which collectively form a complex transport system that keeps this country pulsating all day, every day.
The many components of this transport system include but is not limited to roads, rail, ports, aviation and pipelines that need to function in harmony to create an integrated freight transport system that seamlessly moves goods across and through the city. As such, the importance of proper integration between all modes of freight movements and supporting freight infrastructure cannot be over-emphasized.
The different freight modes are so closely intertwined that it is virtually impossible for one mode of freight transport to function efficiently in the absence of the other modes of freight transportation….and this is where we come in!
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLANS (TMP)
An efficient TMP management is essential to the successful execution of any construction project. We develop TMPs for all types of construction projects.
The purpose of the TMP is to propose a set of coordinated traffic management strategies that will help to mitigate the impact of construction on the current road network.
The TMP is a multi-faceted and multi–jurisdictional plan of operational, communications and traffic demand management strategies to maintain acceptable levels of traffic flow during the construction of a project.
The key benefits of the TMP that we develop are to promote mobility and to improve work zone safety for the travelling public and construction workers.
ROAD SAFETY PROJECTS
We undertake road safety and traffic calming projects in cordons of the road network. Our tailor-made road safety and traffic calming projects are essentially aimed at improving road safety and reducing vehicle speeds by self-enforcing traffic engineering methods. We commonly apply traffic calming in urban and residential roads.
